Story behind the music
The music and song structure were completed prior to Detsky Mir break up in 1990, but no lyrics were written. Sidney had been listening to Lisa Stansfield's debut album Affection on repeat for months, and her vibe was a major influence on the music.
The working title for the music was "Hold On" when the sequences were restored. Upon initial clean up Reid thought the music fit their catalogue and began working on lyrics for what would become Nothing Ever Changes.
